Services for Philip Alford III will be held on Saturday, October 5, 2024, at 2 p.m. at the Cowboy Church of Erath County with Werth Mayes officiating. Philip entered eternal rest on Thursday, August 22, 2024, in Stephenville, Texas. He was 76 years old. Arrangements are by Lacy Funeral Home.

Philip was born in Temple, Texas, on July 29, 1948, to parents Philip Alford Jr. and Virginia Jones. Philip served in the United States Marine Corps. during the Vietnam War. He married Glenda K. Hansen on November 7, 2004, at the Cowboy Church of Erath County in Stephenville, Texas.

Philip was a water filtration specialist dedicating a lot of his time both on and off the job site to his research and designing of a superior filtration system. His interest in water led to visiting various gold mines, as well as taking numerous helicopter flights above different bodies and forms of water, all for the purpose of researching and studying water in its most natural form.

Philip took time to appreciate the world around him as a nature photographer. In his spare time Philip also enjoyed attending Jeep jamborees and traveling. He especially loved the western United States and his attempt was to see every national park. He was interested in aeronautics, almost obtaining his pilots license to fly small planes. Philip was an original member of the Cowboy Church of Erath County. He was a Bible scholar, reading it cover to cover over 90 times in his lifetime.

Survivors include his wife, Glenda Alford of Stephenville, Texas; daughter, Wendy Grace Alford of Hensley, Arkansas; grandchildren, Spencer Vinson and wife, Joana of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Sarah Albert and husband, Caleb of Maumelle, Arkansas, Samantha Rhodes and husband, Julian of Rison, Arkansas, and Cody Small and wife, Abby of Hensley, Arkansas; seven great-grandchildren; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Preceded in death by his parents, Philip and Virginia Alford; and one great granddaughter, Julianna Grace Rhodes.
