The Stephenville FAITH Lady Knights volleyball secured a win on Tuesday, September 3, defeating the Three Way Lady Braves in 3 straight sets.
The Lady Knights came out strong, winning their first set 25-5, giving them a boost of confidence going forward. The Braves attempted a comeback in the second set, however, it was not enough to beat the Knights, who took the win, 25-15. The Lady Knights finish the game with a bang with #7 Mattie Gayner finishing the 3 set off with a kill for a score of 25-14.
It was a great day for the FAITH volleyball team. The Lady Knights #4 Charlsey Cole was a key player and led the team in kills, while # 2 Kaitlyn Eiland went on a serving streak helping them secure a win early on in set 1.
Second year head coach Kristi Norwood said, “Games with this tempo are difficult to play, but these girls will do whatever I ask of them. Under any circumstance, I always tell them to keep their heads up, keep talking, and most importantly, have fun!”
She believes this was a great game to get the serving jitters out before they face Granbury CCA on Thursday, September 5. Norwood also said this is a big season for the Knight volleyball team with the majority of players being seniors, setting them up for a successful year.
