Friday night was very interesting for two local 6-man football teams. For the first game of the season, it was an inner-county game for the Stephenville FAITH Knights and the Lingleville Cardinals.

The game kicked off a bit early on Lingleville’s turf, due to weather concerns.  About 30 minutes into the game, there was a weather delay at the end of the first quarter, due to lightning. At this point, the score was 14-0 Lingleville leading.

Following the 30 minute weather delay, the Knights scored 2 touchdowns & the Cardinals scored another touchdown as well. With two minutes left in the second quarter, and yet another lightning delay, the teams had no choice but to cancel the game.

According to UIL, if a game is canceled before halftime, it doesn’t go down as a win/loss for either team. Good luck to both the Lingleville Cardinals and the Stephenville FAITH Knights on the rest of their season!
