Laura was born in Breckenridge, Texas on March 25, 1952 to John and Jean Hall.  Laura grew up in Breckenridge, moving to Stephenville to attend Tarleton State College in 1970.  In 1980, Laura began her teaching career in Stephenville ISD. After resigning in 1981 to raise her youngest child, she resumed teaching at Hico ISD in 1985, where she taught until her retirement in 2009. During her time as an educator, she not only impacted the lives of many students, but she also gained many lifelong friends.

Laura was a Life Master bridge player and member of the American Contract Bridge League, which afforded her many opportunities to combine her love of bridge with her love of travel. It was rare that she turned down an invitation to play a game of bridge, and when invited to travel, whether with family or friends, she was always eager to accept. Laura was deeply spiritual and a devoted believer of the good news of Jesus Christ. She was a passionate student of the scriptures and was in perpetual study to discover and understand the truths of God through the Old and New Testaments. She merged her skill and enthusiasm for teaching and the scriptures to guide Sunday school classes in churches she attended throughout her life.

Survivors include her three children, Alan Nash and wife Miranda, Barbara Schipper and husband Jason, and Clayton Nash and wife Jana; her four grandchildren, Michael Nash, Matthew Nash, Lukas Nash, and Kaya Nash; her twin brother Norman Hall of Greenville and younger brother Jeffrey Hall of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; and so many wonderful in-laws through the Nash, Hall, Schipper, Johnson, and Boucher families. Laura is also survived by her love and companion of her latter years, Bill Ream of Burleson.

Laura and her family are grateful to Dr. David Boucher and CCS Hospice who ensured Laura’s comfort in her final days.  Laura’s family is forever indebted to the nurses and staff of Lone Star Rehabilitation and Wellness Center in Stephenville for caring for Mom in her final weeks, making their place of calling a home for the Nash family and tending to Laura and us as if we were their family.

In lieu of flowers, the family would encourage memorials to the Fosters Home for Children.
