Tex Montana Garnett was born on September 23, 1939, to Tutt and Edith Garnett, in Lockney, Texas. He passed away in his home on February 6, 2025.

Tex was a loving, devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He prided himself on his family and it was evident to all that his grandchildren and kids were the light of his life. He was a provider that always ensured his family was well taken care of.

Tex was a man of many talents and was well known for his craftsmanship with leatherworking, welding, horsemanship and roping abilities and the countless days he spent shoeing horses all over the country. Tex also loved every minute of his time in which he cared for thousands of wheat pasture cattle.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Lanita Garnett of Dublin, TX, and daughter Lana Trahern of Cleburne TX. He is also survived by his grandchildren Taylor Trahern of Cleburne TX, and Rory Lee Hale of Dublin, TX. In addition, he is survived by his siblings Ann Whitehead of Dublin, TX and his brother Tutt Garnett of Llano TX along with many nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his Dad and Step-Mother, Tutt and Lois Garnett and his Step-Dad, George Childers and Mother Edith Childers and his sister Ruth Garnett. He also was preceded in death by his son Jim Bob Garnett and his daughter Lindsey Garnett.  

Graveside Services will be held Monday, February 10, 2025, at the Upper Greens Creek Cemetery at 2:00pm.
