(July 21, 1950 – February 20, 2025)
Wayne Monroe Beaty, 74 of Proctor, Tx, passed away on February 20, 2025 in Waco, Tx, Born on July 21, 1950 in Gorman, Texas to Alton and Annie Beaty.
Wayne was the fourth of eight Beaty siblings all raised in Comanche, TX. As all Beaty’s did, he started working early, first around the upholstery shop at the Beaty Used Car lot and later at the TG Frick Station. After graduating from Comanche High School in 1970, he began drilling wells and core samples for Wolf Drilling, sales for National Oilwell Varco and Glazer’s Beer and Beverage, Exclusive Transport and finally after retirement he went back to family at Handy’s Liquor to give Jackie and Jim Bob a helping hand. Wayne was always a hard worker, who loved his family. Wayne lived a big life, on his terms. If he wasn’t talking to us about all his classic cars and jet boats over the years, he would be talking to us about his horses and adventures as the Erath County Sheriff Posse President. Wayne could be found watching Nascar, Barrett Jackson Auction, Old Western’s and Fox News with two TVs going at once. He was always one to lend a helping hand and quietly showed up for his family and friends. Wayne earned several names over the years, one of his favorites was Daddy, which later became Papa and evolved into Pom Pom. He will be missed by us all but we are so happy he is back with Lou Ann. A Celebration of Life will be at a later date, when the bluebonnets are blooming, which was his favorite time of the year. In Lieu of flowers, please donate to Scottish Rite for Children, Your local High School Ag Mechanic program, Your local High School Bass Fishing teams or the Republican Party.
Wayne was preceded in death by his loving parents, Alton and Annie Beaty, cherished sister Lou Ann Basham and brother in laws, Ricky Brandon and Weldon Hall.
