A longtime resident of Dublin, John Delano Hodges died May 10, 2025. He was born December 10, 1933, to Clyde and Selma Hodges in DeLeon, Texas. He was preceded in death by his loving wife Sandra in 2013 after 63 years of marriage. John and Sandra raised 4 children- Pamella Glass and husband, Bill, of Smithville, Texas. Mickie Couch and husband, Gary, of Kerrville, Texas, Dr. John C. Hodges of Dublin, Robin Richmond and husband, Rickey, of Dublin, Texas. John and Sandra were also blessed with 10 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.
John graduated in 1963 from Tarleton State College, now Tarleton State University, with the first 4-year degree in Mathematics. He was a nursing home administrator and hospital administrator and retired from the Texas State Department of Health.
John loved to garden and provide many hours of entertainment for the grandkids via a pool, trampoline, mini-bike, and Dr. Pepper car. John and Sandra were long-time members of Patrick Street Church of Christ. Memorials in his honor can be made to Cherokee Home for Children (P.O. Box 295 Cherokee, Texas 76832) or Patrick Street Church of Christ in Dublin.
John has requested a graveside service for family only.
