(March 30, 1952 — June 9, 2025)

It is with great sadness that the family of Terry Lee Bartley announces his unexpected passing, June 9, 2025, in Fort Worth, Texas, at the age of 73.

Terry was born on March 30, 1952, in Sulphur Springs, Texas, to James Dale Bartley and Neva Sandifeer Bartley. He married Kimberly Davis Bartley, in Terrell, Texas, June 6, 1975. Though saddened to not have more, Kim was grateful to reach the milestone of their 50th wedding anniversary Friday. Terry & Kim had two children, James Bartley and Leigh Ann Bartley Hill.

Terry demonstrated his strong work ethic and amazing mechanical ability throughout his career in utilities. Beginning in 1973 at Garland Power in Light; 1975 at Monticello Power Plant (Mount Pleasant, TX) for Texas Utilities; 1978 at Thermo Coal Mine (Sulphur Springs, TX) for Texas Utilities Mining Company; 1994 at Commanche Peak Nuclear Plant (Glen Rose, TX) for Texas Utilities, retiring from this same location and Oncor Electric in 2014. His work ethic and mechanical mind were not limited to his work day, whether at home or for his family, friends, or neighbors – Terry’s free time was building fences, barns, shops, sheds, repairing vehicles, tractors, hay equipment, appliances, welding, plowing, shredding, bailing hay, volunteer fire fighting in East Texas, tending to cows, horses, and so much more. He never said I can’t or I don’t know how, he learned or found a way. Moreover, he never said no to helping ANYONE!

Terry is survived and will be so greatly missed, but forever loved by his Wife of 50 years, Kimberly Davis Bartley; his Children – James Bartley & Leigh Ann Bartley Hill; his Grandchildren – Haleigh Bush, Mikayla Bush, Breanna Bartley & Anthony Hill; his Sister – Machele Bartley Hass & her Husband – Glenn Hass; his Nieces & their Husbands – Heather & Bo Bourland (& children – Levi & Lani), and Candice & Jeremy Hager; Mother-in-law – Sue Davis; Brother-in-law – Brian Davis & his Wife – Tish Davis, Nephew & his Wife – Chase & Acacia Davis (& children – Caleb, Blaine, Griffin, Emmeline & Warren); and far too many cousins, extended family, and family friends to list, as there was no limit to his inclusion in family. He selflessly devoted his entire adult life to caring for his family. Terry’s soul was golden, his smile infectious, his spirit calming, his work ethic and integrity – incomparable, but Terry’s unparalleled legacy has been and will always be, his love for his family, especially his wife, the greatest love of his life.

Terry was preceded in death by his parents, James Dale Bartley and Neva Sandifeer Bartley, and far too many cherished aunts, uncles and cousins.

His family welcomes all who knew and loved Terry to honor him in the casual simplistic attire and fashion he would have wanted during visitation Friday, June 13, 2025, from 12 P.M. – 2:00 P.M.at Stephenville Funeral Home in Stephenville, Texas. graveside service will be held immediately following at West End Cemetery in Stephenville, Texas, with Gary Williams officiating.
