Services will be held at a later time.

Even at a pre-college age Lee always wanted to be outside and to “build”. His father expected Lee to work in the family dry cleaning business during school summer vacation, but he did not follow that easy path. He began, precollege, working as a carpenter mostly entry level, toting lumber and learning the business. Throughout his career, his love was for wood. Upon completing his college years – he earned a BBA in product management at North Texas State – and after serving in the Navy he began his own construction business. He began building starter homes and in the following years moved into building custom homes, then multi family apartments, re-modeling and commercial buildings as well. His signature business card read “LEE B” contractors.

Mr. Bailey was highly respected in his field as he always insisted on high quality workmanship. His many subcontractors also became his friends, and they also adhere to this high standards.

He was recognized as Contractor of the year and many other civic works. He was an accomplished scuba diver, golfer (a lifetime member of the Fort Worth Colonial Club and PGA), hunter and member of the Texas Longhorn Breeder Association.

He is survived by his wife Bobbie, sons Darren Bailey, and Davin Barefoot, sister Charlotte Rhinehardt, grandsons Kelly Kirk and Norman Kirk granddaughter Cindy Barefoot and niece Natali Fornes.

Memorials can be made to the Foster’s Home for Children.
