Shallbetter Ties for Second Following Thursday’s CNFR Score

STEPHENVILLE — Coleman Shallbetter vaulted into a second-place tie in the saddle bronc riding third go-round Thursday at the College National Finals Rodeo in Casper, Wyo.

The Tarleton State University cowboy posted a 77.5-point ride to trail teammate Montgomery Parsons in the go-round. Shallbetter finishes his CNFR preliminary runs with a three-head total of 233.5. 

In other Thursday action, Tarleton State competitors Waitley Sharon’s saddle bronc ride ended with no score as did Kaylie Garza’s breakaway roping effort.

Tarleton State team members competing Friday are barrel racer Hadley Tidwell, goat tyer Tori Brower, saddle bronc rider Bailey Small and tie-down roper Brayden Roe.

The top 12 qualifiers in each event will advance to Saturday’s championship round.
