Douglas Mack Elston, 78, went to be with the Lord on June 29, 2025.

Mack was born to Charles and Molly Elston on July 3, 1946 in Stephenville, Texas.

After graduating from Huckabay High School, he went to work for Western Electric. He also worked for the Texas Department of Transportation.

He was drafted into the Army in 1966 where he served in Vietnam in 1966-1967.

He married Sandra Larner in 1966 and they had two boys, Rowdy and Roger. They lived in Sweetwater for 27 years before moving back to Morgan Mill.

Mack was a deacon at the Morgan Mill Baptist Church. He loved his church family.

Among loving life, he loved hunting, playing his guitar, and singing, but the highlight of his life was going to Black Powder Rendezvous. He made lifelong friends that were to special to him. You can’t make old friends!

He is survived by his wife, Sandra; sons, Rowdy and wife Cheryl and Roger and wife Joy; his brothers Gene Elston, Edwin Elston, and Carroll Elston; grandchildren, Tucker Elston, Tate Elston, Hannah and Miles Oldengarm, Holly Elston, Quinn and Jessica St. Ama, and Devin and Sieta St. Ama; and great-grandchildren, Malichi and Evelyn Oldengarm, Hans and Annika St. Ama, and Hunter Belle and Barrett St. Ama. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Molly Elston, sister, Derelle Sims, and brothers, Allen and Kenneth Elston.

Service Information

Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 5, at the Stephenville Funeral Home Chapel.
