(February 4, 2015) — Stephenville split its District 4-4A soccer openers at Mineral Wells Tuesday. The Yellow Jackets dominated and won 2-0, while the shorthanded Honeybees fell 2-1.
Scoring for the Jackets were Santi Gallego and Aaron Veloz on assists from Felipe Espinoza and Tino Rocha.
Codi Beyer had the only goal for the Bees with 11 minutes remaining. It came off a lead pass from Tatum Sharp. The Bees’ trouble – besides having four players competing in a district basketball contest – was playing from behind after surrendering two first half goals. Previously, they had allowed only two regulation goals all season.
