(February 27, 2015) — Stephenville FAITH is headed to the state semifinals. Both FAITH teams that is.

The FAITH Knights and Lady Knights both won their state quarterfinal games at the Texas Christian Athletic League State Tournament in College Station Thursday. The Knights defeated Canton Lighthouse 48-31 and face Marshall Christian in Friday’s semifinals. The Lady Knights defeated Marshall Christian 26-15 and have a rematch Friday against Portales Faith Triumphant, who they beat for the Region I championship.

All-Region selections led both FAITH clubs. Shadd Cole had 12 points and 12 rebounds while Joey Braun poured in 17 points and snared seven boards for the boys. For the girls, Mikayla Wand doubled up with 10 points and 10 rebounds while Brianna Leos chipped in seven boards five steals and four points. Miriam Thompson also filled out the stat sheet, scoring six points, hitting the glass seven times and recording three steals.

FAITH has won four consecutive state titles in football, but has never won a state title in any other sport.
