(May 18, 2015) — JB Mauney won the short go at the Cody and Jenny Ohl PBR Chute Out in Hico Saturday, and it was enough to lift him to the average title as well.
Mauney scored 92.5 points aboard Gigolo Beau in the short go, after qualifying for that round by scoring 86 points on California Sports Coat.

Fabiano Vieira was the only other rider to post a score in the short go, tallying 82.5 points on Magic. Mauney won the average at 176.5 points, while Vieira was second at 170.5. Vieira scored 88 points aboard Crazy Days in the long go.
Mike Lee won the long go with an 88.5-point ride on Little Joe, but an injury prevented Lee from competing in the short go and average.

Mauney, a world champion, went head-to-head in a chute out against four-time world champ J.W. Harris, but both cowboys bucked off. They were competing for $10,000 that both had agreed to donate to the family of Madison Burt, a young girl suffering from brain cancer. The prize money still went to the Burt family, who went as far as to post a Facebook video thanking the Ohl’s and all involved (watch video here).
The event benefited both the Burt family and a fund for scholarships to Hico High School seniors.
