LIBERTY HILL (August 14, 2015) — A pair of state powers met in scrimmage acton Saturday as Liberty Hill outscored Stephenville 2-1 in a largely controlled event and the first against an opponent for each club.
Liberty Hill scored the only touchdown in down-and-distance work, a 75-yard scamper around left end. The Yellow Jackets finally mustered a response as the scrimmage went on, moving the chains offensively and slowly gaining footing against Liberty Hill’s slot-T power rushing attack.
Easton Jones got Stephenville on the board with a red-zone touchdown pass of 18 yards to Darian Brown.
Liberty Hill also scored during the red-zone phase, but not until after a four-down stop by the Yellow Jackets ended in celebration.
