(February 1, 2016) — Hico has its 2016 and 2017 football opponents all set while Dublin and Lingleville are each down to one opening on their schedules.

Local teams are finalizing their football schedules following the UIL biennial realignment, announced Monday. New districts were released for all UIL football and basketball members, affecting the 2016-17 and 2017-18 school years.

Dublin and Hico will continue to face off in season openers in 2016 and 2017. Hico will follow that with Tolar, Millsap and Italy, in order. The Tigers are in a seven-team district and the order of games in 7-2A Division I has not been set.

Dublin will follow week one action against Hico with Albany. The Lions have not finalized a week three opponent as of early Monday afternoon, but have Breckenridge and Bosqueville locked up the following two weeks. The Lions are in the six-team 4-3A Division II, with order of games yet to be determined.

Lingleville opens against Evant in a classic hosted by Zephyr, then faces Strawn. Week three is still up in the air for the Cardinals, with Rising Star, Zephyr, Iredell and Walnut Springs to follow. Lingleville is in a four-team district and the order of the three contests is not yet determined.
