Elsmer Louise “Poopie” Grayson, age 83, passed away on Friday, February 5, 2016, in Comanche, Texas.
She was born on January 7, 1933, in Comanche, to Jack and Thelma Marie (Kirkland) Morgan. On October 14, 1950, she was united in marriage to Dan Grayson in Comanche. He preceded her in death on July 19, 2014. For eighteen years Poopie worked for Dr. W.D. Blackwood in W.D. Blackwood Hospital & Clinic, and for twenty-two years was Charge Nurse for Western Hills Nursing Home. She was devoted to her family and was beloved by her many friends.
She is survived by her son, Steven Grayson and wife Donna of Comanche; grandchildren, Corbin Grayson and wife Sarah of Sanger, Faith Grayson of Comanche, and Ashlyn Grayson of Comanche; great-grandchildren, Lila Grayson of Sanger and Job Grayson of Sanger; sister, Gwen Woolsey and husband Earnest of Comanche; numerous nieces and nephews; and special friend, Bonnie Huett of Comanche. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Thelma Marie Morgan; sister, Delphine Wadsworth; brother-in-law, Walter Wadsworth; and nephew, Walter Jack Wadsworth.
