Two taken to DFW hospitals following second house fire in a week

STEPHENVILLE (May 14, 2017) – Just before 2 p.m. area first responders were dispatched to a report of a house fire in the 500 block of N. Everett Street in Stephenville.

According to witnesses, there was a loud explosion and when they went outside, smoke could be seen coming from the house. Stephenville PD officials confirmed the fire was put out and listed as such at 2:36 p.m.

While it is still not known how many people were living in the home at this time, two victims, both believed to be male, were taken to Dallas-Fort Worth hospitals via air ambulance. No one has been identified at this time.

During the fire, both electric and gas companies were called to the scene. And Stephenville Fire officials said the local investigation is still ongoing, and no cause of the fire has yet to be determined.
