GLEN ROSE (July 10, 2017) – Residents of Somervell, Erath, Bosque, Hood Counties and the surrounding areas are invited to participate in the first regional Texas Mission of Mercy (TMOM) dental event Friday and Saturday, July 21-22. TMOM is a mobile dental clinic that delivers pain-relieving and restorative dental care at no cost to underserved Texans.

No proof of residence or income are required. And the group’s website said the only requirements are need and willingness to wait one’s turn. Child care is not provided and the organization asks participants do not bring children unless they are being treated.

The patients will need to arrive by 5 a.m. on Friday, July 21, or Saturday, July 22, at Glen Rose High School to register. Doors will open at 6 a.m. TMOM is a first-come, first-served event, and the clinic will stop accepting patients once capacity is reached. Patients must bring their current medications.

More than 40 volunteer dentists and hundreds of volunteers from the dental profession, businesses, and community groups will provide charitable care to hundreds from the area. But they still need volunteers! Clinical knowledge is NOT required for community volunteers. There are lots of jobs to do and organizers can show you how to do lots of things. To learn more about volunteering, visit tmomvolunteer.org. ALL volunteers must register.

The Texas Dental Association Smiles Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to educating the public and profession about oral health and improving access to dental care for the citizens of Texas. Since 2001, Texas dentists have treated more than 34,000 patients and provided more than $18.9 million in charitable dental care at TMOM events. For more information, please visit tdasf.org.
