Tom VanKranenberg, Sr., Lingleville
First of all, hats off to De Leon QB Kevin Yeager on his 15-16 passing for 7 TDs with a passer rating in the 470s and. Rare would such a performance not earn DQ Football Athlete of the Week. Well, guess what? Tom VanKranenburg of Lingleville went out and made an almost unfathomable 30 tackles when Lingleville beat Gordon for the first time in school history. The Cardinals did it soundly,too , winning 60-24 behind the lies of VanKranenburg, who also rushed for two touchdowns and passed or one.
DQ VOLLEYBALL ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Ashton Garner, Sr., Stephenville
Ashton Garner pieced together quite the productive end to her high school volleyball career, landing 11 kills while acing a serve, digging six balls and blocking two when the Honeybees beat Waxahachie Life to secure third place in District 8-4A. Garner turned around and had six kills and six digs in Monday’s bi-district playoff loss, just for good measure.
