(November 3, 2017) — No one in District 6-3A this season boasted a serve as hard to handle as that of Dublin senior Angelica Linan. And nobody could set a hitter quite like Jordyn Ricks.
That was the verdict of head coaches in 6-3A, who met this week to vote on their all-district team. Of seven superlatives based on performance on the court, Dublin took two with Linan, a senior, named server of the year and Ricks, a sophomore, earring the title setter of the year.

Linan, Ricks and first-team all-district pick Kyleigh Bamber, a senior outside hitter, were the biggest standouts for the third-place Lady Lions, who went on to fall to District 5-3A runner-up Clyde in a Region I-3A bi-district playoff Monday in Brownwood.
Dublin also had a second-team selection in senior libero Hailey Ortega and four honorable-mention accolades belonging to junior right side hitter Addison Stout, another sophomore setter in Kylie Curtoys, and middle blockers Joley Chisholm, a senior, and Bailey Noel, a sophomore.
The Lady Lions were also strong in the classroom with nine players earning academic all-district status – seniors Bamber and Ortega, juniors Yakelin Morantes, Brooklynn Johnson and Amy Rodrigeuez, sophomores Ricks, Noel and Camry Porter and freshman Maeleigh Geijsel.
