Honeybee golf team headed to Regional Golf Tournament

Yellow Jackets third place finish leaves them out of the hunt

(April 3, 2018) – The Stephenville Honeybee golf team is headed to the Regional Tournament after a second-place finish Tuesday at the District 8-4A Tournament held at Squaw Creek Golf Course in Glen Rose.

Struggling against another day of sustained gusty wind Allee Mainord shot an 83 to seize the third-place individual medal after a day one score of 82 and a combined total of 165. As a team, Stephenville recorded a two-day total of 727 strokes which trailed Midlothian Heritage’s tally of 688.

Alexis Graham 8th and Taylor Harpole (9th) joined Mainord in the top ten and earned all-district honors for their finishes. The Honeybees have some time to tune up for the Regional Tournament that is scheduled for April 25-36 in Lubbock at the Shadow Hills Golf Course.

Kendall Roberts was the top individual for the Yellow Jackets who finished third as a team with a score of 697 which was behind Midlothian Heritage (612) and Godley (671). Roberts was also all named to the all-district team.
