The action was fast and furious as players showed off their skills learned during the Stephenville Summer Fun Football Camp hosted by coach Greg Winder and his staff at the high school last week.
All the skills and fundamentals were on display Saturday after campers spent three days practicing the basics like footwork before moving onto another building block.
“These kids come out here incredibly focused on the drills and tasks that we assign them to,” Coach Greg Winder said. “It’s fun for us as coaches to work with these little guys because lots of the time we are working with older kids.”
The campers’ admiration of hitting the field for the head coach of the Stephenville Yellow Jackets is obvious and it doesn’t take more than a blast (maybe two sometimes) from Winder’s whistle to get the young athletes attention.
Saturday all the attention was on tournament play with parents and family gathered around just like they will be when it comes time for the first inter-scrimmage scrimmage of 2018 in August.
