Borden Duane Reeder, 87, born on July 16, 1937, in Lubbock, Texas passed away on March 26, 2025, at his home. Borden was a man of strong faith in God and was a member of the Patrick Street Church of Christ in Dublin. The family asks that you go by Harrell Funeral Home to sign Borden’s book, and if you want to, write how you met Borden or your favorite memory of Borden. There will not be a visitation. There will be a graveside funeral for the family. Borden was born to Iva Condecia and Sid Reeder in Gail, Texas where his father, Sid, served as Sherriff for more than 27 years. Borden married his high school sweetheart, Janice Marie Ernst, from Vincent, Tx. They both attended Borden County High School in Gail. Borden Duane Reeder and Janice Marie Ernst were married on August 30, 1957, in Snyder, Texas. After High School, Borden graduated from Texas Tech with a Bachelor of science in Animal Husbandry and was a farmer/rancher. Throughout his lifetime, he managed a feedlot in Snyder, Tx, a goat farm and hog farm in Bluff Dale, Tx, The Tackett Sale Barn in Dublin, Tx, owned a dairy farm, and an oil company. Borden enjoyed working, a good steak, and his horses and dogs. Borden believed in serving the community and served as a city councilman and on the school board.
Borden is preceded in death by his parents, Iva and Sid Reeder, his sister, Sidney Reeder Pharr, and brother, Larry Reeder.
Borden is survived by his wife, Janice Reeder, his children; Vickie Amos, Blake Reeder and wife, Becky, Craig Reeder and Sandra Rogers, Misty Hoye and husband, David, grandchildren; Chase Amos, Derek Reeder, Mariah Shultz and husband, Brent, and Ashleigh Hoye; his great-grandchild, Hudson Schultz and numerous nieces and nephews.
Borden’s family wished to express their gratitude to the CCS Hospice team in Dublin, especially Tiffany Villegas, who helped care for him in his last days along with the Waymakers caregivers.
