Sport: STEPHENVILLE (January 27, 2015) — Josh Nowell’s best game – and definitely his best half – was enough to make Stephenville’s District 6-4A win over Brownwood an easy one at Gandy Gym Tuesday night.

Nowell scored 17 points in the first half and 19 in the game as the Yellow Jackets ripped the Lions 63-31. In fact, Nowell and Darian Brown, who scored 16, outscored Brownwood by four.

And they weren’t even the only Yellow Jackets in double figures in a game that was over almost before it began. Stephenville jumped ahead 30-7 and never looked back.

Tyler Griffin scored 11 for the Jackets, Evan Moody seven, Kaegun Williams five, Mason Yoes three and Sutton Fambro two.

Stephenville is 2-2 in district, and is sitting third behind Abilene Wylie and Mineral Wells. The Jackets are idle Friday and visit Mineral Wells next Tuesday.
