(April 28, 2015) — Stephenville and Brownwood are both headed to the Region I-4A softball playoffs.
Now, to determine their seeds.
Brownwood defeated Abilene Wylie in the play-in game for the final playoff spot from 6-4A Monday evening, setting up Tuesday’s game between Brownwood and Stephenville to determine which team is the No. 3 and No. 4 seeds.

Stephenville, Wylie and Brownwood all tied for spots 3-5 in the 6-4A race, as each finished with a district record of 3-5. Stephenville had the bye in the three-team playoff because of its 3-1 record against Brownwood and Wylie, were those teams were each 2-2 between the the threesome. Stephenville swept Wylie and would not have had the seeding playoff if Wylie had won on Monday. Stephenville and Brownwood, however, split their regular-season series.
Tuesday’s game time and location are still being determined due to weather. The winner faces 5-4A runner-up Burkburnett in the bi-district round of the state playoffs, while the loser meets Vernon, the champ from that district.
