STEPHENVILLE (June 13, 2015) — Both games came down to the final play and Stephenville came short each time in 7-on-7 football at Tarleton State Saturday.
A jump ball carried both receiver and defensive back out of bounds on the final play of a 26-25 loss to Brownwood. Cameron Frazier caught a pass from Easton Jones but was touched down at the 3-yard line to end a 32-26 loss to Eastland.
There were only three teams in the pool, each having already qualified for state and not eligible to advance to the bracket rounds of the qualifying tournament.
Dublin was eligible to advance, but dropped two of three pool games. The Lions have one final chance to qualify for state when they travel to Clyde next Saturday.
Dublin bombed overmatched Gorman 64-6, but lost 34-15 to Gatesville and 28-14 to Canton.
