(January 9, 2016) — Tarleton State is coming off what senior Meagan O’Dell and junior Bailey Wipff each called its best performance of the season in a 94-65 rout of Angelo State Wednesday at Wisdom Gym.
The TexAnns (7-6, 1-2) look to keep alive their newfound momentum and even up their Lone Star Conference record today at Texas A&M-Kingsville (5-6, 1-3). Tipoff is set for 6 p.m. at the Steinke Center.
Wipff, a junior guard, and O’Dell, a senior guard who came off the bench Wednesday, each had career highs with 22 points and 21, respectively. Tarleton had its most points (94) and assists (28) of the season while committing a season low seven turnovers.
A&M-Kingsville is on a five game losing skid, including three defeats by double digits. The Javelinas began the skid with a one-point road loss to Texas-Permian Basin, then lost by 18 and 16 to St. Mary’s and NAIA Our Lady of the Lake. A defensive struggle didn’t go their way when they scored only 39 points at home against A&M-International, then after dropping a pair of Division I exhibitions, they opened LSC play with a 85-61 loss at A&M-Commerce Wednesday.
