STEPHENVILLE (March 1, 2016) — Stephenville remained undefeated and flexed some muscle as the clear favorite in the 4-4A district boys soccer race Tuesday night, blanking Brownwood 3-0.
The Yellow Jackets improved to 12-0-2 on the year, and more importantly, to 3-0 in district play. Noble Alexander was keeper another shutout, his second straight just four nights after silencing Abilene Wylie, 4-0.
The Stephenville scoring began with Brady Alford banging one in from the midst of a crowd in front of goal just before halftime. Stephenville pulled away in the second with a one-timer from Matthew Chapman and a cross from Pedro Manrriquez to set up Ivan Cabrera for a goal and 3-0 lead.
Stephenville will play the remainder of its regular-season games away from home. They visit Mineral Wells at 5 p.m. Friday, then are idle until trips to Wylie on March 15 and Brownwood on March 18.
