STEPHENVILLE (October 25, 2017) — It took until the final night of the regular season to sort out the third and fourth place finishers in District 8-4A volleyball, but Stephenville made sure the final bout of the year took no more sets than necessary.

After a two-set lead disappeared and they had to win a tight fifth set to hold off Waxahachie Life in their first meeting, the Honeybees weren’t caught looking past the Mustangs this time. Stephenville took care of business in straight sets for a 25-23, 25-21, 27-25 road win, securing third place and relegating Life to fourth.

Stephenville coaches report that everything for the first playoff match next week is set except the opponent. Springtown and Kennedale are co-champs in 7-3A, so the Honeybees will face the loser of their one-game seeding playoff, set for Friday. Both schools have agreed that whoever is relegated to the No. 2 seed will meet Stephenville at 6 p.m. next Tuesday, Halloween Night, at Aledo High School, for their Region I-4A bi-district match.
