(December 19, 2017) — Jeremiah Martinez could just feel it, and he made sure De Leon felt it.

Martinez made it rain with nine 3-pointers for all of his 27 Dublin points in a 70-44 win against De Leon at Roy and Lynn Neff Gym Tuesday. Head coach Will Parks called off the dogs – and his hot shooter – after leading 47-13 at intermission, when Martinez already tossed in eight 3-balls for his first 24.

Rayce Jackson was good for nine points in each half of an evenly dispersed 18-point performance for the Lions, while Kevin Yeager was the top Bearcat with 11 points.

Dublin outscored De Leon 23-7 and 24-6 in the first two quarters. Helping Martinez and Jackson do the scoring were Hopkins with seven points, Tim Teten six, Jakob Seals five, Blake Porter five and Josh Hanes two.

The Lions won for the fourth time in five games to reach the Christmas break. Both clubs and Stephenville give The Flash Today coverage area three representatives in the TexasBank Holiday Classic in Brownwood Thursday, December 28, through Saturday, December 30.

Dublin makes its debut in the classic in the Brownwood Coliseum at 5:50 p.m. on Dec. 28 against Midland Greenwood. De Leon opens two games prior to that at 3:10 p.m. in the Coliseum against Colorado City. There is a possibility the Bearcats will face Stephenville in their second tourney game.
