Mya Wesley and Jade Wilson keyed an 11-0 second-quarter run as No. 6 Stephenville rallied from a 16-11 deficit to seize control over Graham’s Lady Blues in a tight 44-40 road win Friday.

Stephenville (10-1) is known this season for dominating inside the paint, but it was an outside-attack that led to the win for the Honeybees against Graham (5-8).

Wesley connected on four of the Honeybee’s nine three-pointers, and she combined with Wilson for six second-quarter that went from beyond the arc.

The Honeybees built a 24-16 half-time lead. The lead would grow to 37-26 after outscoring the Lady Blues 13-1, and Stephenville held off a furious fourth-quarter rally by the Lady Blues to notch the victory.

Behind Wesley’s 12, Jaylee Matthews had 8, Alee McClendon 7, Jade Wilson and Landri Withers each with 6, Mya Wilson 4, and Katie McIrvin with 1.

With the win, the Bees move to 10-1 overall and host Azle Monday at 2:15 p.m.
