Sport: STEPHENVILLE (December 4, 2014) — Hailey Roberts became just the second Tarleton State volleyball player to ever earn All-American honors Tuesday when she was listed as a third-team selection by Daktronics.
And she’s only a freshman. The best freshman, in fact, in the Lone Star Conference Player of the Year.
Roberts is one of just two LSC players selected to the Daktronics All-American team after being named LSC freshman of the year then to the Daktronics All-South Central Region squad.
The Cedar Park product amassed 509 kills, third most in a season in school history, and was No. 9 in the nation with 4.24 kills per set. She was fourth nationally at 5.02 points per set, and finished in the top 10 in Tarleton single-season history with 1,223 total attacks and 60 service aces.
The three-time LSC Player of the Week helped the TexAnns to their first LSC Championship title, first appearance in the NCAA Division II Championship and first Division II playoff victory.
Tarleton reached the semifinal round of the South Central Regional in Mesa, Colorado.
